Ping Range scans your network for devices. You define a range of IP addresses, and the program will ping each in turn. If any devices respond they are displayed in the results pane. The program can also obtain the MAC address, and network name (hostname) of active devices.
Use Ping Range in a corporate environment to audit the devices connected to a DHCP server. Or at home to see if any intruders are connected to your WiFi.
Ping Range is standalone, so it can be kept on a USB drive, and is less than 1MB in size. No installation required. It can ping a single device, either by IP-Address or hostname, and returns the MAC address.
The results can be saved to a CSV file for your records, and an equivalent batch file can be constructed in the Batch Wizard.

Phew!! Wayne P - 6/9/2008 6:33:31 AM Hi. We had an office move over the weekend which involved people who where running very awkward mainframe applications with reserved ip addresses etc. Things started to get a bit out of control, but with this application i was able to quickly cross-reference ip address to hostname/mac address and make sense of things. It really dug me out of a hole!! Thanks!

Vista Answer Darren - 9/14/2009 5:19:02 AM Hi Dean, This program will work with Vista, but must be run as an administrator. In Vista you will need to right-click on the executable file, select PROPERTIES -> COMPATIBILITY and then check the box near the bottom: "Run this program as an administrator"
